Ingredients

For the Beef Mixture
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
For the Sandwich
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices sourdough or white bread
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until it starts to brown.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Season with salt and pepper. Then, add Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Let it simmer until the liquid reduces.
Grilling
  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Place two slices of bread, butter side down, on the skillet. Add cheddar cheese, the beef mixture, and mozzarella cheese on top.
  3. Top with the remaining bread slices, butter side up.
  4. Grill each side for 3–4 minutes until golden and the cheese melts. Flip carefully.
  5. Slice and serve warm. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add spices like paprika or Italian seasoning to the beef mixture. Try using different cheeses for variety. Keep an eye on the heat while grilling to avoid burning the bread.
